Kochi: The High Court has granted conditional bail to Reporter TV Managing Director and Managing Editor Anto Augustine in the excise case registered against him.
While considering the bail petition, the High Court asked whether there were any previous Abkari cases against Anto Augustine. The government replied that there were none.
Following this, the High Court granted conditional bail to Anto Augustine.
He was booked under Sections 55(i), 55(a), and 58 of the Kerala Abkari Act. His bail application was dismissed by the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court in Sulthan Bathery on September 18, following which he approached the High Court.
Anto was arrested on September 17, 2026, at the company’s headquarters in Kalamassery following high drama involving the excise team.
